Provision

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that it is in the public interest to do so, on the recommendation of the Treasury Board and the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, makes the annexed Fees Paid or Payable for the Acquisition of Permanent Resident Status and for the Processing of a Sponsorship Application for Family Classes (Sudan) Remission Order under subsection 23(2.1) a of the Financial Administration Act b. S.C. 1991, c. 24, s. 7(2) R.S., c. F-11

s. 1 — Permanent resident status
s. 1(1)

Remission is granted, to any foreign national who meets the condition set out in subsection (2), of the fee paid or payable under subsection 303(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations for the acquisition of permanent resident status.

s. 1(2) — Condition

The remission is granted on the condition that the foreign national was granted, under one of the following temporary public policies, an exemption from the applicable requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations for their application for a permanent resident visa as a member of the family class or for permanent residence under the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class:

s. 1(2)(a)

the Updated Temporary Public Policy for Family Members Who Fled Conflict in Sudan, signed by the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration on October 27, 2025;

s. 1(2)(b)

the Updated temporary public policy for family members who fled conflict in Sudan, signed by the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration on December 29, 2025.

s. 2 — Sponsorship
s. 2(1)

Remission is granted, to any person who meets the conditions set out in subsection (2), of the fee paid or payable under subsection 304(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations for the processing of a sponsorship application.

s. 2(2) — Conditions

The remission is granted on the following conditions:

s. 2(2)(a)

the person is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada who filed a sponsorship application in respect of a foreign national; and

s. 2(2)(b)

the foreign national requested, under one of the following temporary public policies, an exemption for the applicable requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations for their application for a permanent resident visa as a member of the family class or for permanent residence under the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class:

s. 2(2)(b)(i)

the Updated Temporary Public Policy for Family Members Who Fled Conflict in Sudan, signed by the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration on October 27, 2025, or

s. 2(2)(b)(ii)

the Updated temporary public policy for family members who fled conflict in Sudan, signed by the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration on December 29, 2025.
