His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Supply and Services and the President of the Treasury Board, pursuant to subsection 10(2) of the Publication of Statutes Act and section 52 of the Financial Administration Act, is pleased hereby to revoke Order in Council P.C. 1953-609 of 22nd April, 1953* and to make the annexed Direction regarding the Distribution of the Acts of Parliament. Short Title
This Direction may be cited as the Statutes of Canada Distribution Direction.
Delivery
The Acts of the Parliament of Canada shall, as soon after the close of each session as practicable, be delivered without charge to the persons listed in the schedule.
Governor General
Lieutenant Governors of the Provinces
Speaker of the Senate
Speaker of the House of Commons
Prime Minister
Leader of the Opposition in the Senate
Leader of the Opposition in the House of Commons
Ministers of the Government of Canada
Members of the Parliament of Canada not otherwise included on this list
Members of the judiciary of Canada, including provincial court judges and magistrates
Attorneys General, Ministers of Justice and Solicitors General of the Governments of the Provinces
Chief or senior legislative counsel of each Province
Chief librarians of court houses in Canada
Chief librarians of law schools in Canada
Members and officials of the Government of any foreign country and persons holding positions in universities and other institutions in that country if
reciprocal arrangements exist for similar distribution without charge in Canada; or
the Minister of Justice, the Secretary of State for External Affairs, the Librarian and Archivist of Canada or the Parliamentary Librarian recommend the free distribution.
