Provision

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, is pleased hereby

(a)

pursuant to paragraph 2(a) of the Public Service Rearrangement and Transfer of Duties Act, to transfer

(i)

to the Department of Supply and Services the control and supervision of the following portions of the public service, namely

(A)

the Government Telecommunications Agency in the Department of Communications, and

(B)

the Translation Bureau, consisting of those portions of the Office of the Assistant Under-Secretary of State (Official Languages — Translation) and the Office of the Assistant Under-Secretary of State (Social Development and Regional Operations), in the Department of the Secretary of State of Canada relating to translation and related services, and

(ii)

to the Minister of Supply and Services all of the powers, duties and functions of the Minister of Public Works under any Act of Parliament; and

(b)

pursuant to paragraph 2(b) of that Act, to amalgamate and combine the Department of Supply and Services and the Department of Public Works under the Minister of Supply and Services and under the Deputy Minister of Supply and Services.
