His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to paragraph 2(a) of the Public Service Rearrangement and Transfer of Duties Act, is pleased hereby
to transfer to the Secretary of State of Canada
the powers, duties and functions of the Minister of Employment and Immigration referred to in paragraphs (a) and (b) of Order in Council P.C. 1993-1134 of June 1, 1993*, SI/93-82, 1993 Canada Gazette Part II, p. 2697
the powers, duties and functions of the Minister of Employment and Immigration referred to in subparagraphs (a)(i) and (ii) of Order in Council P.C. 1993-1669 of August 13, 1993**, SI/93-168, 1993 Canada Gazette Part II, p. 3539
the powers, duties and functions of the Solicitor General of Canada relating to immigration referred to in paragraph (a) of Order in Council P.C. 1993-1669 of August 13, 1993**, and
all the powers, duties and functions of the Minister of Multiculturalism and Citizenship relating to citizenship under any Act of Parliament, other than powers, duties or functions relating to voluntary action and human rights; and
to transfer to the Department of the Secretary of State of Canada the control and supervision of
the Immigration and Overseas Health Services Division of the Canada Employment and Immigration Commission referred to in Order in Council P.C. 1993-1135 of June 1, 1993***, SI/93-83, 1993 Canada Gazette Part II, p. 2698
the Settlement Branch of the Department of Employment and Immigration,
that portion of Immigration in the Department of the Solicitor General referred to in paragraph (a) of Order in Council P.C. 1993-1485 of June 25, 1993****, SI/93-139, 1993 Canada Gazette Part II, p. 3231
those portions of the Department of the Solicitor General referred to in subparagraphs (b)(i) to (v) of Order in Council P.C. 1993-1669 of August 13, 1993**,
that portion of the Canada Employment and Immigration Commission relating to immigration settlement and the matters referred to in section 119 of the Immigration Act,
those portions of the Canada Employment and Immigration Commission relating to the development of policy in respect of the matters referred to in subsections 6(1), (3), (5) and (8) and sections 7 and 108 of the Immigration Act, and
that portion of the Department of Multiculturalism and Citizenship relating to citizenship, other than the portions thereof relating to voluntary action and human rights.
