Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to sections 978 a of the Bank Act b, 1021 c of the Insurance Companies Act d and 531 e of the Trust and Loan Companies Act f, hereby makes the annexed Entity Member of Group Regulations. Entity Member of a Bank’s Group
For the purpose of paragraph 464(2)(d) of the Bank Act, the following entities are members of a bank’s group:
a central for which an order has been made under subsection 473(1) of the Cooperative Credit Associations Act that controls the bank;
a subsidiary of a central referred to in paragraph (a); and
an entity in which a central referred to in paragraph (a) has a substantial investment.
Entity Member of a Bank Holding Company’s Group
For the purpose of paragraph 925(2)(d) of the Bank Act, the following entities are members of a bank holding company’s group:
a central for which an order has been made under subsection 473(1) of the Cooperative Credit Associations Act that controls the bank holding company;
a subsidiary of a central referred to in paragraph (a); and
an entity in which a central referred to in paragraph (a) has a substantial investment.
Entity Member of Insurance Company’s Group
For the purpose of paragraph 490(2)(d) of the Insurance Companies Act, the following entities are members of a company’s group:
a central for which an order has been made under subsection 473(1) of the Cooperative Credit Associations Act that controls the company;
a subsidiary of a central referred to in paragraph (a); and
an entity in which a central referred to in paragraph (a) has a substantial investment.
Entity Member of Insurance Holding Company’s Group
For the purpose of paragraph 966(2)(d) of the Insurance Companies Act, the following entities are members of an insurance holding company’s group:
a central for which an order has been made under subsection 473(1) of the Cooperative Credit Associations Act that controls the insurance holding company;
a subsidiary of a central referred to in paragraph (a); and
an entity in which a central referred to in paragraph (a) has a substantial investment.
Entity Member of Trust and Loan Company’s Group
For the purpose of paragraph 449(2)(d) of the Trust and Loan Companies Act, the following entities are members of a company’s group:
a central for which an order has been made under subsection 473(1) of the Cooperative Credit Associations Act that controls the company;
a subsidiary of a central referred to in paragraph (a); and
an entity in which a central referred to in paragraph (a) has a substantial investment.
Coming into Force
These Regulations come into force on the day on which they are registered.
