Whereas the Governor in Council, taking into account the operational effectiveness of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, considers it necessary to adapt the Employment Equity Act a to accommodate the Service;
And whereas, pursuant to subsection 41(6) of that Act, the Solicitor General of Canada has been consulted on the annexed regulations;
Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Treasury Board and the Minister of Labour, pursuant to subsection 41(5) of the Employment Equity Act a, hereby makes the annexed Regulations Adapting the Employment Equity Act in respect of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service.
Purpose
These Regulations adapt the Employment Equity Act to accommodate the Canadian Security Intelligence Service taking into account its operational effectiveness.
Adaptation of Part II of the Act
The Employment Equity Act is adapted by adding the following after the title of Part II:

Coming into Force
These Regulations come into force on the day on which they are registered.
