— Definition
In this regulation, government assistance cheque means a government cheque that is issued with any of the following printed on its face:
s. 1(a)
"BC Employment and Assistance";
s. 1(b)
"BC Employment and Assistance Imprest Account";
s. 1(c)
"BC Employment and Assistance Imprest Account — MCFD";
s. 1(d)
"BC Employment and Assistance Imprest Account — SDPR".
s. 2
— Government cheques
Subject to this regulation, a person may charge, require or accept a cheque cashing fee.
s. 3
— Government assistance cheques
Despite section 2, a person may charge, require or accept a cheque cashing fee in relation to a government assistance cheque only if the cheque cashing fee does not exceed the lesser of
s. 3(a)
$2.00 plus 1% of the face value of the government assistance cheque, and
s. 3(b)
$10.00.
