23_2023 — Minister of State for Child Care Expected Results for the 2023/2024 Fiscal Year Regulation

s. 1 — Application of this regulation

This regulation applies to the Minister of State for Child Care for the 2023/2024 fiscal year.

s. 2 — Definition

In this regulation, Act means the Balanced Budget and Ministerial Accountability Act.

s. 3 — Minister of State for Child Care

The expected results that the Minister of State for Child Care is to achieve for the purposes of section 5 (3) of the Act are as follows:

s. 3(a)

continue to implement initiatives that support ChildCare BC, our government's 10-year plan to provide universal, affordable, accessible, quality and inclusive child care to every family that wants or needs it;

s. 3(b)

engage with the following to inform implementation of ChildCare BC and to guide the development of a distinctions-based approach to increasing Indigenous-led child care:

s. 3(b)(i)

all levels of government;

s. 3(b)(ii)

Indigenous governing bodies and other entities representing Indigenous peoples;

s. 3(b)(iii)

school boards, child care providers and other sector stakeholders;

s. 3(c)

continue to monitor the implementation of bilateral agreements with the government of Canada;

s. 3(d)

submit to Cabinet a report on the results referred to in paragraphs (a) through (c) on or before March 31, 2024.
