In this regulation:
Act means the Medical Research (BC Cancer Agency) and Health Status Registry Act;
information means information or classes of information relevant to medical research into the prevention, causes, diagnosis, treatment and outcomes of cancer or its precursor lesions and includes records containing that information.
Information that may be requested by the BC Cancer Agency under section 2 (1) of the Act is limited to information listed in Appendices 1 to 3.
Appendix 1 Personal Identification Information 1 Personal identifiers (a) name; (b) sex; (c) birthdate and place; (d) marital status; (e) residence information. 2 Family identifiers (a) spouse's name. 3 Health identifiers (a) health insurance number; (b) personal health number.
Appendix 2 [am. B.C. Reg. 136/2025, s. 1.] Medical Information 1 Records from medical laboratories, imaging services, hospitals and other health facilities and medical practitioners. 2 Mortality and morbidity data including autopsy reports.
Appendix 3 Factors Which Influence the Occurrence of Cancer in Human Populations 1 Intrinsic host factors (a) ethnicity; (b) medical history.
