Permits

s. 2 — Permit fees

For the purpose of sections 39 and 47 (2) of the Act, the fee for issue or renewal of a permit is $500.

s. 3 — Repealed

s. 3.1 — Annual rents

The annual rent for a permit issued is,

s. 3.1(a)

for the first, second, third, fourth and fifth years, $1.05/ha, and

s. 3.1(b)

for the sixth and subsequent years, $1.75/ha.

s. 4 — Work requirement for permittees

A permittee shall do, or cause to be done, on the location for which the permit was issued, work consisting of geological work, geophysical exploration or exploratory drilling, or any of them, to the satisfaction of the director to the value of,

for a Class A, B or C permit, $1/ha,

s. 5 — Work in lieu

s. 5(1)

Where a permittee has done or caused to be done road construction giving access to the permittee's location, that work shall be deemed to have been done on the location, and the permittee may

s. 5(1)(a)

apply the road construction, in the year it is done, in lieu of up to one year's work requirement during the term of the permit, or

s. 5(1)(b)

where the director has approved the work on the basis that it will benefit others than the permittee, apply the road construction in lieu of the work requirement.

s. 5(2)

Where the regulator has approved a program of geological work or geophysical exploration, or both, that is to be done beyond the boundaries of a location or locations that work, on completion, may be applied by the permittee in lieu of the work requirement as if it had been done on the location or locations.

s. 6 — Recording of work

All work shall be recorded with the director in the permit year in which it is done.

Drilling Licences

s. 6.1 — Fee and rent on application

For the purposes of section 49.1 (4) (b) of the Act,

s. 6.1(a)

the fee for issue of a drilling licence is $500, and

s. 6.1(b)

the rent for the first year of a drilling licence is $3.50/ha/year.

s. 6.2 — Annual rent

For the purposes of section 49.2 (1) of the Act, the rent is $3.50/ha/year.

s. 6.3 — Penalty for late rent

For the purposes of section 49.2 (2) (b) of the Act, the penalty is $500.

s. 6.4 — Reinstatement fee

For the purposes of section 49.2 (3) (b) of the Act, the reinstatement fee is $500.

s. 6.5 — Fees and rents on continuation

s. 6.5(1)

For the purposes of section 3 (5) (b) of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Drilling Licence and Lease Regulation,

s. 6.5(1)(a)

the continuation fee is $500, and

s. 6.5(1)(b)

the rent is $7/ha/year.

s. 6.5(2)

For the purposes of section 3 (5.1) (a) and (5.3) (c) of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Drilling Licence and Lease Regulation, the rent is $3.50/ha for the period of the continuation.

Leases

s. 7 — Application fee

For the purposes of section 51 of the Act, the fee for issue of a lease is $500.

s. 8 — Annual rent

s. 8(1)

The annual rental for a lease is $7.50/ha, payable in advance.

s. 8.1 — Continuation penalty

For the purposes of section 62 (1) of the Act, the penalty is

s. 8.1(a)

$15/ha for the first continuation, and

s. 8.1(b)

$25/ha for the second or third continuation.

s. 8.2 — Reinstatement fee

For the purposes of section 63 (2) (c) of the Act, the reinstatement fee is $500.

s. 8.3 — Rent on continuation

For the purposes of section 5.01 (2) of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Drilling Licence and Lease Regulation, the rent is $7.50/ha for the period of the continuation.

s. 9 — Repealed

Miscellaneous

s. 10 — Miscellaneous fees

The following fees are payable:

s. 10(a)-(b)

s. 10(c)

for the preparation and issuance of a title search letter, $7.50;

s. 10(d)

for the visual examination of records, or the provision of any other service for which no fee is prescribed, $25 per hour;

s. 10(e)

for a copy of or extract from a record, the greater of $10 and $0.75 per page;

s. 10(f)

for certifying a copy of or extract from a record, the greater of $15 and $1 per page.
