64_2012 — Forestry Service Providers Compensation Fund Regulation

s. 1 — Definitions

In this regulation:

s. 1 — Act

Act means the Forestry Service Providers Protection Act;

s. 1 — free growing stand

free growing stand has the same meaning as in the Forest and Range Practices Act.

s. 2 — Fund established

For the purposes set out in section 26 (1) of the Act, the Forestry Service Providers Compensation Fund is established with an initial balance of $5 million, as provided by the government.

s. 3 — Forestry service providers

s. 3(1)

For the purposes of the definition of "services" in section 1 (1) of the Act, the following are prescribed:

s. 3(1)(a)

activities relating to growing seedlings;

s. 3(1)(b)

silviculture activities that are necessary, or are required under the Forest and Range Practices Act, to establish free growing stands.

s. 3(2)

For the purposes of Part 2 of the Act, the class of persons who provide services for a holder of an agreement referred to in section 12 of the Forest Act are designated as forestry service providers.
