    the load lines are either in the position required by paragraph (1)(e) or in the position required by the tables used by the Board of Trade in the United Kingdom on December 31, 1906 for fixing the position of load lines, subject to such modifications of those tables and of the application thereof, approved by the Board of Trade under section 438 of the Merchant Shipping Acts, as were in force immediately before July 5, 1930.
