(1) The interest that the Minister may require obligated municipalities to pay under subsection 86.4 (4) of the Act shall be calculated at the rate of 1.5 per cent per month on the unpaid amount for every month or part of a month that the amount remains unpaid.

An obligated municipality shall pay interest required under subsection 86.4 (4) of the Act within 30 days after receiving a written demand from the Minister for payment of the interest.
