Provision

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

Short Title

s. 1 — Short title

This Act may be cited as the Supplementary Fiscal Equalization Payments 1982-87 Act.

Supplementary Payments

s. 2 — Payments authorized

In addition to the fiscal equalization payment amounts payable for the period April 1, 1982 to March 31, 1987 to each province entitled to a fiscal equalization payment under Part I of the Federal-Provincial Fiscal Arrangements and Federal Post-Secondary Education and Health Contributions Act, 1977, the Minister of Finance shall pay to each such province as a supplementary fiscal equalization payment, the following amounts:

s. 2(a)

in respect of the fiscal year commencing on April 1, 1985,

s. 2(a)(i)

one hundred and ten million dollars to the Province of Quebec,

s. 2(a)(ii)

fifty million dollars to the Province of Manitoba,

s. 2(a)(iii)

twenty million dollars to the Province of Nova Scotia,

s. 2(a)(iv)

twenty million dollars to the Province of New Brunswick,

s. 2(a)(v)

fifteen million dollars to the Province of Newfoundland, and

s. 2(a)(vi)

five million dollars to the Province of Prince Edward Island; and

s. 2(b)

in respect of the fiscal year commencing on April 1, 1986, sixty-five million dollars to the Province of Manitoba.

s. 3 — Payments out of C.R.F.

The amounts authorized to be paid by section 2 shall be paid out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund

s. 3(a)

in respect of the fiscal year commencing on April 1, 1985, within thirty days after the coming into force of this Act; and

s. 3(b)

in respect of the fiscal year commencing on April 1, 1986, within thirty days after the commencement of that year.
