    Where an officer leaves goods or a conveyance in the custody of any person pursuant to subsection (1), the officer shall give notice to the person from whom he would otherwise have seized them that he is doing so, and the goods or conveyance shall, for the purposes of this Act, be deemed to have been seized on the day the notice is given.
