    For the purpose of subsection 88(2.1), the actual cost of the depreciable property that was acquired by a corporation before the commencement of its 1949 taxation year that is capital property referred to in that subsection shall be deemed to be the capital cost of that property to the corporation (within the meaning assigned by section 144 of the Income Tax Act, chapter 148 of the Revised Statutes of Canada, 1952, as it read in its application to the 1971 taxation year).
