    If the interest of a mortgagee in a ship or a share in a ship is transmitted on death or bankruptcy, or by any lawful means other than by a transfer under section 43, the person to whom the interest is transmitted must file with the Chief Registrar the evidence of the transmission that the Chief Registrar specifies.
